Self-destruction mode

This is a beautiful range. However, there is a problem with the self-cleaning feature: using it broke my oven. When the repairman came, he replied: "Ah! You used the self-destruction mode." Apparently, the oven heats to 900 degrees during self-cleaning which damage components. Why would GE create this functionality if using it breaks the oven? Fortunately, I had purchased an extended warranty. Nevertheless, I've been without an oven for 5.5 weeks because the repairman has still not been able to fix it. I like my range but I am looking forward to baking again. Unfortunately, I will never use the self-cleaning again. I learned my lesson.

BEWARE OF MATTE WHITE COLOR MISMATCH

I would have given it a 5 but BEWARE that GECafe matte white appliance color doesn't match between appliances. I bought the dishwasher three years ago and noticed that it had a grey undertone to the color. Having nothing to compare it too until now when I bought the 30" induction range with warming drawer which is a beautiful bright white. Now you would think a company as big as GE would have quality control to make sure the matte white product line would match. I had planned on purchasing the refrigerator but am now having second thoughts. I hate the dishwasher now with the grey undertone. So disappointi I would have given this product 5 stars but beware that the matte white finish doesn't match between Cafe appliances. This range is a beautiful matte white while the dishwasher has a grey undertone. The induction is fantastic and quiet. The oven is spot on. Love the roller slide out rack. I use the warming drawer a lot as well as the warming zone on the top of the range. I don't expect to use the bridge feature as I don't have pans that would work. However I do like having two of the medium burners.

Happy With New Stove!

Our Cafe oven was installed this week. So far it is a great improvement over our old whirlpool. Our old oven was only 2 1/2 years old, but it had no self-clean, much to our surprise, along with several other issues. In contrast, the GECafe has induction burners. The plus is efficient and easy to determine heat setting. The down side for me, was parting with a few pots I had sedimental attachments to because they did not work with induction. Our new stove also has self clean! I haven™€™t figured out everything, like wi-fi, and the temperature probe, but so far it pre heats in a reasonable time and the food is done as expected! We cooked pizza, meatloaf , biscuits, and chicken. Last, I am so relieved to get rid of the stainless steel! We both love the Cream finish, with brass accents. It fits perfectly into our kitchen.

I am new to induction cooking but loving it so far. We removed our gas stove and oven. I thought I might have a learning curve, but so far, so good. We use Hexclad pans on the stove, and they work great. We have only had the range for 2 months, so I have not done a lot of baking yet. I know it will be better than my 1970s 50 degrees too hot oven.

One use and oven dead

Style over substance. I used my range one time before the oven stopped working. It starts heating then after a couple of seconds the controls flicker and it powers off, and the clock has to be reset. I did all the troubleshooting. Based on other recent reviews, GE is selling a product it knows is defective.

Love my new range with induction cooktop. Involved a bit.of a learning curve coming from 40 years of cooking on electric and without a convection oven option- but would not go back. This is precision cooking! Baked goods are perfect. Even eggs fry up better due to the responsiveness of the burners. It is functional and beautiful. My first item in the oven was a batch of German springerele cookies which require a low and consistent temperature. They came out perfect.

saved to buy what I thought was the best kitchen package - stove top never worked correctly - After over a year and 4 different services men coming out to pull and try to repair the unit its was replaced. My counter top was damaged and the burned in on me to get someone to come give me two estimates - the unit needs to be pulled to see the complete damage and no contractor will risk pulling in nor risk damaging my oak floors - system wont let me upload images

It's a beautiful range. It's ok as a induction stove. The burners DO NOT cool down as quickly as induction cook tops should. Not as slow as electric, but as fast to reach a touchable temperature as others I have used. The light indicator stays on when the cook top is on or cooling, but it doesn't indicate which burner. It is helpful to know which burner is hot since there is often more than one person in the kitchen.

Major failure after 2 months

Main board went after 2 months of light use. Backordered until December so without a stove or oven for 6 weeks over Thanksgiving. Luckily local retailer we purchased from is helping with loaner, but GE customer, and repair service were not helpful. Now I have to pay for extended warranty because I have no confidence in longevity of any of the $12,000 in appliances I just bought.

The stove top heats very evenly and quickly. The only downside is that you cannot use the larger burners for smaller skillets or pots; the burners will not work if not fully covered. The oven also heats very evenly. We love the look--elegance for an affordable price!

Disappointed but still a bit hopeful

The burners works wonderfully. However, I could not use the oven even once because after 5 minutes or so the dreaded "Fault 350" error code appeared. I followed the instruction to turn off the breaker, wait, and turn the breaker back on again but the error code restarted soon after the oven was turned back on. We were told a technician would come in 6 days but then someone contacted me to tell me the technician we'll be on vacation. So a different one may come in 8 days instead (but that did not seem certain). I sincerely hope the technician can fix our range right away because we're expecting company 3 days later. I'm disappointed because this is the most expensive range I ever bought and was expecting more. I'm also quite nervous that fixing the oven will take much that I can wait.

It is a beautiful range! We haven't had a chance to use it yet, but so far everything is working well. It does make an audible hissing sound when it is working, which is much worse when there is a metal steamer basket in the pan (for steaming vegetables). The fan comes on when the oven is used, and while the sound isn't too loud, it does bother me and continues longer than you'd think necessary to cool. I wish that could be turned off, but I understand it is a safety feature. So far it seems very easy to clean, and I love the knobs and the control panel. The controls are very intuitive and easy to figure out. We don't want to use any of the smart features. Hopefully it will last a long time!

The Induction top NEVER gets dirty!!

I love everything about the stove but don™€™t like asking someone to look up how to use each separate thing. I want a paper manual that I can look at while using the stove. I can™€™t work with the stove in the kitchen when the computer is in another room not that close.

Cooktop goes off for no reason. No wonder they discontinued this product because it™€™s a piece of garbage. Why do you need a computer in an oven anyway.

Oven Quit Working After a Year!

If I could give less than one star, I would. We recently built a brand new home and ordered this beautiful range to complete our kitchen. The delivery was delayed by more than 7 months, but, despite my frustration, I accepted it due to the pandemic. We have had our stove for a little more than a year, and the oven has completely stopped working. We have tried everything to get it to work, but it won't (only the stove top is functional). To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I thought investing more in our appliances would ensure we ended up with quality products. If you're looking for a range that looks pretty but doesn't work, this is the one for you!

Nothing but Problems - Warranty is a farce

Nothing but problems with our range... glass top was scratched and door was crooked upon delivery. Those things were replaced after 3-4 visits from 3rd party appliance repair. They had to return to fix the rubber seal they broke replacing the glass top. We were OK at that point. Followed the instructions on how to remove spills from oven base (i.e. soak with vinegar). Yep, it removed the baked on food... but it also removed the finish from the bottom of the oven. GE won't replace because 1. It's not field replaceable, AND 2. They consider it cosmetic Almost $5000 for a range of very poor quality. I would look elsewhere. And to top it off, they constantly bombard you with emails to get an extended warranty... FOR WHAT???

Looks fantastic BUT

I love the looks of this range BUT - I have used induction ranges for quite a few years. I have a GE Profile induction range purchased 5 years ago for 1/2 the price and I like how it performs better than this one. This range is EXTREMELY sensitive when it comes to the size of the pots used. I have the same set of pots in both houses and I have had NO problems getting the burner to work in my Profile range. I am constantly having issues with this Cafe Range. I had a repairman come out and his comment was the range is sensitive to size of the pots. I'll have to wait and see - I'm wondering whether this is true or whether I really have a problem with this range. I'm for sure going to purchase extended warranty - I recommend planning on paying a few hundred more when you purchase this range as you may need the extra coverage.

Induction is energy efficient!

I was apprehensive when switching from gas to electric because of energy efficiency concerns. But I am very happy with my appliance and highly recommend it to anyone thinking of making the switch! Believe it or not, my electric bill even went DOWN with this stove! Water boils very fast!

Beautiful but not worth the trouble

This stove is beautiful and also a pain. The oven touch screen half does not work and the oven door push button has been replaced 2 times. The touch screen also will go off at random times like to set the timer and no o e be around it. Has been replaced 2 times. I originally got the gas range with the double doors but had the same problems plus the touch screen. Would never turn on. I am so disappointed since this was the set I wanted now turns out to be junk. But the fridge and dishwasher I have had no problems so far

All's well so far. The top works and cleans flawlessly,. The oven heats evenly, slide-out shelf is very handy. Convection and air fry are fine.

Love this induction range! I was a little nervous to order it because I™€™d heard there was a learning curve in using it since it heats so quickly. I have had zero issues! Everything cooks so perfectly! Baked potatoes come out perfectly as do pancakes, eggs, and other such foods. I am using Hexclad pots and pans that I bought specifically to use with this range and that may be a factor as well. Either way, I am really, really pleased with this purchase!

I'm still adjusting to using it, but I am very satisfied with it's performance. Not used all of the features yet, but I am looking forward to cooking during the holiday season using many of them. I am a little disappointed in the steam clean as it didn't seem to produce much steam and I had a good bit of the cup of water still in the bottom of the oven that I had to get out.

The induction cook top works well with our style of cooking. The oven temperature is dead on. The Iphone setup leaves a little to be desired. It took two hours and multiple attempts to get the setup completed.

We absolutely love this range. It is the first time we went with induction, and it is so efficient and safe for our little one. It is easy to keep clean and looks so sleek with our white cabinets. The multiple modes are helpful for baking and cooking, and we love the app and Bluetooth capabilities.
