I purchased this dehumidifier in October 2021 (1 year and 7 months ago). It worked great, while it worked. Last week the coils in the back started freezing and then melting onto the floor of our basement. I spoke with customer service about the problem and they said that because the 1 year warranty had expired (by only 7 months) that the only option was to pay for a service technician. So, after paying for a dehumidifier that lasted 19 months and has to now be thrown away, I cannot recommend that anyone buy this.

The dehumidifier worked as designed. I have an overflow drain line hooked up to the condensate pump of my HVAC unit. I had a floor spill that may have been related to the filter. Otherwise the unit has been excellent.

We have owned smaller dehumidifiers that had functioned well over several years but did not perform close to the Frigidaire purchase we have recently made. The capacity is much higher and the fill time is significantly less. Because of owning an older home, we have dealt with continuous moisture in the basement. Our new Frigidaire dehumidifier has made a big difference and I highly recommend this product.

I purchased on May 7, 2022 Frigidaire Dehumidifier, High Humidity 50 Pint Capacity with Built In Pump, in White Model number: FFAP5033W1 Worked great for 3 months last summer. Yesterday (May 5, 2023) I turned it on for the first time this year and it runs a short time and shuts off displaying the EC code. I went through all of the troubleshooting steps listed and it repeatably shuts off and displays the same EC code. This unit is super clean (looks brand new) and was only used for 3 months last summer. Today I tried to contact Frigidaire directly for a replacement and of course there is no way to contact them on the weekends. Monday would put it over the 1 year warranty and from what I have read, Frigidaire will deny the warranty if that happens. I want this dehumidifier replaced under warranty. Especially since it is a VERY well known problem with Frigidaire dehumidifiers. See for yourself on Frigidaire's own website in the reviews of how many people have experienced the exact same EC error code in a very short time of owning it. $300 is a lot of money for an appliance that only lasted a couple of months. I hope that your customer service is much better than what I have read.

I needed a unit that is quiet and that can pump the condensate slightly uphill and out through the foundation wall. Before installing the dehumidifier, my crawlspace was at about 65% humidity or sometimes higher, which felt musty and in which mold can grow. Now, with the new dehumidifier set at 50%, the space is much improved. There is not enough headroom in the space to use gravity for continuous drain, so a drainage pump was required. The unit is working well, and the maintenance described in the owner's manual (periodic cleaning of the air filter, pump filter, and collection basin) is quite simple.

We've had several dehumidifiers over the years (they seem to only last 1 or 2 years) and this is my favorite so far. Mainly because it's the quietest one we've had so far. The fan is a little quieter than the others, but the main thing is that it doesn't buzz and rattle like the others did. It's also easy to use and service the filter. The pump feature 3mpties the water itself and you can collect it or have pimp to a sink or drain. I recommend getting an extended warranty with any dehumidifier, like I said, they just don't last long.

My husband and I recently moved to Florida and are within close proximity to the ocean. We discovered very quickly that the humidity in our house is very high due to the location. We were informed by neighbors that the extreme temperatures and moisture can cause mold. The carpet in the bedrooms and clothes in our closets were damp. My husband and I have mold, allergies and asthma, We purchased two Frigidaire dehumidifiers: one for the ground floor and one for the third floor where our bedrooms are. Wish to thank you. Purchased one and it stopped working. They were great on replacing it. So far this one is working great. Love that you can wash the filter, easy to hook up, I use the hose , bought separately, so I don't have to empty the bucket, it just runs into our drain in the basement. Set the temperature to desired humanity and that's it. I check the filter and wash it every two weeks. Great product, thank you again for making it easy, 70 yrs old and need the easiest way to do things.

I just had a household "appliance" mishap/ malfunction that probably caused (or will cause) lots of damage inside the house. A Frigidaire dehumidifier malfunctioned in a recently redone room (gutted and everything replaced.. walls/ floors/ etc...). The dehumidifier has automatic shutoff when the water level in the water holder goes above a certain high point, but apparently it did not work for today at least. Normally it shuts off and gives an alarm so you can empty the dehumidifier bucket.

very grateful to have this - had over 80% humidity in my house due to flooding in the crawlspace. within a few days i had pulled buckets of water out of the air. It is decent looking, relatively easy to move around with wheels and handle. The bucket is easy to manage. I haven't yet used the pump feature as i've been moving it around the house.

I love the auto-pump feature because I can leave the unit on, but don't need to worry about emptying the water container. This unit has done a great job keeping the humidity down in our basement. It runs quietly; in the next room from my home office I hear a gentle hum through the day and will note if it is not running but am never disturbed by the loud compressor sounds people talk about with other units. Having a hose hookup that we could run to our basement sump means we never have to worry about the machine shutting off on high water level in the catch. All in all, I am completely happy with the purchase

This unit is a dehumidifier - at that it excels. This thing sucks water out of the air. The humidistat is accurate. And having three setting for airflow is very helpful. another plus - the unit does not make a lot compressor noise - only air noise. some negatives: - the water collection bucket is clunky to handle. The top hard to remove for cleaning. - the air settings is double edge sword. We run it mostly on Medium because high the fan noise is pretty high. Medium on this unit is like High on the LG unit we have. so normally Medium is adequate. - it does have a defrost cycle however this unit's version of defrost is to kick the air on high. So be prepared for that. High is pretty loud. - when the unit achieve the humidity setting goal, it turns completely off. Unlike our LG unit that keeps running (with compressor off). this may or may not bother you. It is a little distracting actually to have it cut completely off, then, spring back to life - from dead quite to whatever fan speed setting you have it on. with the LG - you have steady fan noise, albeit the LG has a lot of compressor noise. Overall - this unit is good.
